Float
I was the rocky cliff, you were chiseling away at with your waves
Your waves of fury, selfishness
Oh, how relentless you were
I was the bright moon, disguised further away by your dark shadows
Your shadows of fury, selfishness
Oh, how you made nights seem gloom
I was the rotting tree, you cut down to burn in times of your storms
Your cutting of fury, selfishness
Oh, how deep you cut when I was already rotting
I was the cold glacier, you chipped away at me till I drifted away
Your chipping away of fury, selfishness
Oh, but you lost, because I gained my ability to float again

This burns like a Pablo Neruda poem. Nicely done!
Thank you so much, Maggie!
You employ a couple of great poetry techniques in this. Keep experimenting, growing as a poet…
Thank you, mtpoet!
