Found: Homeworthy YouTube video.
“If we turn around
a little bit you’ll see
a corner table,
with-softened-light
from the hallway, stacked
with curios
and an old book;
just over here
on the end of the mantle,
–a mirrored–
christmas ornament
casting a glow
on the wall
over there.”

love the intimate invite in “just over here” and “over there”
“an old book” intrigues
I love the feel of pointing out items — lovely “seen” sensory details.
Ha! I love watching Homeworthy videos. Everything is about “over there” in this piece. It has a glow about it. In the corners, down the hallways, at the end of the mantle!
Oh lord you’ve gone and sent me down the rabbit hole. Wasn’t aware of Homeworthy before your poem, now I’m five episodes in. This seems to capture the vibe perfectly.
Followed you right down it, Bill! I am into the first episode of “Best Small Spaces Design Ideas”
My favorite episodes are of maximalist homes.
I wasn’t aware of Homeworthy either. But I enjoyed the inviting tone of your poem, the way you guide us as to what we should see, and the cozy images of light and reflection.
I love the tone you achieve here–like a photograph where you can see those little motes in the light.
A little gem of a found poem, Coleman. Love it.
I think you should consider a sideline of Poemworthy videos!
