You really capture the excitement and energy of a graduation ceremony here!
“We chatter like kids in line for lunch”—what a perfect line! As always, the photo is a fun addition
Yes! You captured the excitement and anticipation of graduation!
Ah, yes, you stirred some memories for me with this, Gaby!
This made me smile. I just attended my son’s HS graduation a week ago. Images that stood out from that were cameras flashing, hats flung into the air, and massive bottleneck as people headed towards the exits while other people headed towards their graduates. Such a crowd! The speeches are always so banal, though. I’d like to read a poem that’s an erasure of a commencement address.
Tom Hunley – Your last line would be a great prompt!
Not a wasted word! Kudos! And happy summer!
Yes! What a perfect poem to capture the moment.
Gaby – I look forward to June and your poems and photos. It brings back memories for me as well, standing in line, sometimes more eager than the students. One year a woman standing in line next to me asked if I could keep a secret. When I nodded, she opened her robe and I saw she was naked underneath! That’s one way to beat the heat usually apparent at graduations!
Graduation season is such a joyful time! You captured it well.
