High Country / Low Country
River in cursive
careens. Azure mirrors weave
an inverse maze.
/ / / /
Sequined fish rainbow.
Ripples clutch cyrpess-
knees, seeking comfort.
Vines grope the oaks,
shake the silver from
stiff beards of old moss.

Beautiful. Love the personification.
stiff beards of old moss – – such a good line.
Great haikus
Thanks all again for responses! And for those who are really observant (and “form” lovers), note that the first poem, “High Country,” is a “prisoner’s constraint” which uses only letters without ascenders or descenders. Some fun, huh?
See you all next June – and hopefully, all the social/health challenges will be long gone!
