Hivesick
i.
Honeycomb headed,
I’m hungover and buzzing,
Half delirious; I’m a king among bees,
A bumbling fool.
But I spill forth honeythoughts,
Wake in the flowerbed,
Bloom in the presence.
ii.
Yellow with sunshine and a teaspoon of cowardice;
I’m a marigold mongrel,
A mutt of majesty, half vile and violent.

The imagery and alliteration in this poem give it wonderful energy. My favorite line is “I’m a king among bees,/a bumbling fool.”
yep, the alliteration is dope af. nice one.
Thank you, love, for taking this journey with me.
I may not be poetic enough to decipher your poetic metaphors, but your talent still astounds me.
colony colapse disorder?
and yes…talent aplenty
in this poem!
