I learned to read you
I learned to read you
as though you were
a poem e e cummings
would write
with hidden meanings
and rhymes
readers overlook
I discovered his secrets
and in doing so
I understood you
it took time
to read less
into his lines
and more into
the warmth
inside you

Marvelous.
Thanks so much Angela…
I love the meaning and flow to this. As soon as I saw the double E’s I was expecting some odd punctuation and fragmented lines, though (haha).
It is to be expected that you would look for e e cummings’ trademarks…
This is such a nice read ❤️
Thanks for the heart for my poem…
Lovely.
Lovely is a word I hope I will be rewarded with again…
I like this
Your three words is such powerful ones, Pat.
That ending is unexpected!
If a poet chooses to change the direction of a poem, the ending is the perfect place. Thanks for that reply.
