I’m Coping, Not Healing
Death is a joke-
Until it’s not.
–
Cheap humor,
low shot-
a tragedy.
–
–
It’s so simple to think,
“the end”.
Less simple to remember
“he went to sleep
and didn’t wake up.”
–
A mother will cry
for a dead son or daughter-
–
While another
complains on the ones
she still has.
–
That’s the joke!
The funny part-
The punchline-
Death.
–
It’s the end.
So simple,
until it’s not.
until it’s not.
