It Seems a Strange Time to Love
Because you are gone
I wash with your soap.
And don’t change the sheets.
And fall asleep only by accident.
.
I try to tell you
I’m not ruined
but what I say
comes out all
sunken ship
all sand
eroded
statue.

A beautiful way of “trying to put into words” the feelings you’re experiencing.
sunken ship
wonderful line.
Wonderful!
“and fall asleep only by accident
.”
Was the part that hit me hardest; felt all too honest. And familiar
.
I got that feeling as well.
Yep
Ending echoes Shelley’s “Round the decay / Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare / The lone and level sands stretch far away.”
Touching. It’s hard.
I wish I could just type the sounds I make when I read your poems.
