landscape
a girl in my first period class
does not have enough land
to be a painter or nature poet
she barely has room to escape
a few texts off to her friends
her slender hands are a long aluminum trailer by the river
she cries stories leak by leak
over fingers through chink

The first three lines drew me into the portrait
