Lifeless
Where are you
Did I let you go
Far off into the wind
Just to let you blow
As smoothly as the sails of a ship adrift
Fading away…
Like the light in your eyes
Your face so calm As smooth as stone
The room feels colder
As you depart
Leaving to me the memories
At heart
And I will be
As I have always been
Standing far away
Watching
Lost
Broken
Alone

This one really brings up the hurts. Those last few lines, each so weighty, really drive the loneliness home. Nicely done!
What I like most about this poem is its clarity, its simple diction. You resist the temptation to go elaborate. Result: an accessible poem that invites me and allows me to share a little of what you are feeling. Nice job.
I really like the description of the persons face as “smooth as stone”. It conveys a sense of stillness and calmness that contrasts with the speakers own turmoil. Great poem!
