Living with a Serial Killer is Nasty Business
My son introduced us
At first, they were so sweet, so kind
You think, I could make this work.
You bring them home, feed them dinner,
eventually invite them to move in, share your bed
You begin to overlook the little things
The way they tentatively lick your ankles
Later nibble your calve. Then there’s a bite
It’s when the bodies started showing up
on the doorstep – gifts I suppose
that you begin to second guess sharing
your life with a cat
(Inspired by Sophie, my cat
who left me another gift this morning.
We have been roommates for 15 years. )

Fun! Hope Sophie doesn’t bite TOO hard. 😉
Thanks Kevin. Fortunately, not too hard! Lol
very creative!
I had to laugh when I figured out you were referring to a cat.
Title grabbed me and I laughed in great relief when I realized it was a cat.
What a fun read……our Cleo has stopped leaving us presents😞 but her new boyfriend leaves her one occasionally.
And this is why I have golden retrievers. LoL
Fun poem!
Awesome title! Delightful poem. I really enjoyed this!
Catchy title leading to a fun poem. Your slow reveal just added to the tension at the beginning! Well done.
