Looking out the Airplane Window at the Atlantic Shoreline I See
savanna of cloud
elephant’s trunk, giraffe’s neck,
the shell of a giant African snail
sidling up to the mucuous
membrane of mist shadowing
hydrangea blooms on ocean
scarred by blade and oar.

Oh, very nice! “ocean / scarred by blade and oar” is such a strong closing line
Thanks, Gillis!🙂
Very strong imagery and so many great word choices here like “savanna of cloud” and “sidling.” Lovely piece.
Thank you so much!
