luxuries of idleness
push
puncture the surface
pull
needle and thread
weaving prayers and stars
hopes
dreams
meeting ancestors round circle
as we stitch
what lies beyond the mind
onto canvas
through generations back
push
pierce the veil
pull
visions and smoke
let rise
the prayers
bone
deep

I really like the energy in this poem. Very well done!
I love the “push” and “pull” and its tension throughout. I envision the “ancestors round circle” stitching. . . “what lies beyond the mind.” Wow.
this so encapsulates the meditation and spirituality and sacred circle of the cross stitch / needle and thread arts
I like the rhythm and flow of both words and meaning.
I love the juxtaposition of the title and the poem. There is a lot of work in idleness. Well done!
I love the music and rhythm of this poem. It feels almost like an incantation.
