Marigolds in a Row
The cucumbers can’t do this on their own.
An orange landing strip directs the pollinators–
a ruffled “welcome on in, won’t you enjoy?
New blooms daily.” New blooms
one season, unless you’re devoted
to the seeds.
Marigold flowers land well on a salad,
so they say. Tastes across the board
depending on what variety you bring in.
Marigolds encourage butterflies and bees,
but are unpleasant upon arrival
to pests who would otherwise have their way.

Marigolds are a fav of mine. Thanks for sharing!
I’d love to see a visual book or chap of your garden poems paired with photos! Love this.
