Morning Sky Full of Poems
Candy luminous
puffs, pink and plum sugar spun
precede the slow sun,
morph into neon
stripes, a tiger burning bright
electric orange
over the rooster’s
crow to white chickens beside
a red wheelbarrow.

full of poems, indeed! very clever and so well done!
As someone who feels they’re here to extol color, this poem speaks volumes! Delicious imagery; I feel myself in it.
ah solstice sunrise
& homage to WCW
nice
e.e. cummings and William Blake too! 🙂
I thought I caught that 😉 😂
With a nod to Basho, too, since these are haiku. You dazzler.
I love how full of poems this is and the images: “pink and plum sugar spun/precede the slow sun,” is also a great turn
Let’s hear for white chickens! They are taking stage with the famous red wheelbarrow!
Love the vivid colors! And internal rhymes.
I often watch the sky back in NM at dawn, and have tried to write about it, but you have really nailed the sunrise experience! Original and powerful!
intertextuality par excellence
Exactly. Super clever flex. Love it! Well done.
Love the title, and the haikus flowing one into the other.
Adore:
over the rooster’s
crow to white chickens beside
a red wheelbarrow.
