No Man is an Island
Experienced this homily
full throttle this year
Forced to isolate
Spent days with no
human contact
Something broke inside me.
Grief overwhelmed me:
for my departed spouse,
far away family,
friends,
social contacts.
An involuntary island.
Can I ever recover
and return to the
mainland?

No man is an island, but women have the power to do anything!
So true!
A sad but lovely poem. I do hope, even from an island, that writing feels like a bridge 🙂
Yes it does! Thx!
This poem will touch a lot of people.
A lot was lost in the course of that year, but we are a resilient people. We will bring back everything we can.
You succinctly convey the impact of isolation, the sense of grief, and the question of recovery from trauma.
