oneing
low tide good
quarter mile out
to the first wave
a child cries
no does not want
the touch of water
another runs back
toward sand sings
goodbye seasnells
and puddles goodbye
crabs and ocean clouds
and sun I stop stand
there between them
drenched in blue
“Oneing” is a term used by Julian of Norwich in “Revelations of Divine Love”.

Kate, I love the movement of this poem and how it culminates in “drenched in blue.” I’m intrigued by this term “oneing” you used in the title. Will need to investigate it, to see if it’s what I think it might mean.
I will be eager to hear what you discover….
Beautiful moment. I like the poem’s brevity and it’s haunted quality.
So cool, Visual, like a 5 sec video
playing over & over
Really like the condensed simplicity of this poem. The clarity and directness of the images creates a vivid experience.
