Parked on the side of an interstate
after Steven Brown
There are cows everywhere
and crickets. I often wonder about
thousands of them in the woods, permanently
fed-up. They’re out there, fields of dry grass
or dark pine, owners of nothing
who’ve got it all.

Yes! Perfection.
I really love this little snippet!
…owners of nothing
who’ve got it all.
so true!
I really enjoyed this
I’m delighted that you are considering the point of view of cows and crickets, the dark pines and dry grasses. I love your title too.
Delightful! And the “thousands of them in the woods, permanently/fed-up” was quite the amusing picture.
“Owners of nothing, who’ve got it all “ love this!
