Prayer
A resonance of song
A chiffon scarf
floats
away
into an ocean
five shades of blue
waves roll in. waves roll out.
the wingspan of twenty two birds
on their way home–
finds you

Beautiful! Love the visuals as well!
Kim, thank you for the reminder of chiffon floating away as i pray to our lady or buddha or mother our natural soother by my favorite place to be the sea . . . i appreciate your beauty filled words!
Thank you Darlene! I was on Star Island last week sitting outside a chapel service on rocks looking out at the ocean blue of New Hampshire/maine. The minister was talking about all the different, non-traditional & traditional ways we pray & never really think of the moment as a prayer. And, she challenged those who don’t pray or don’t believe in prayer—to think about prayer in a different way. It was so windy a wooden 3 person bench blew over & my scarf was like a kite blowing around my neck. Beautiful morning and this poem emerged!
