Rainy day tanka
Goose gray, early June,
the hollyhocks stand taller
even the grass in
its slow way whispers thanks. Peace
unto all when rain drops fall.

Lovely lilting rhythm here, Bill.
I thought of Cat (Yusef) Stevens when I read this. The poem has great energy.
It’s a tanka day! Love the infusion of spirituality into nature!
Wow. Brief but profound. And lovely.
