feels like lyrics to a philip glass opera…
would love to hear this set to music..
Ahoy, Joseph! So excited to see your brilliant writing this morning. “Desecrate the temple
to build
a silent
shrine.” — Once again, your words have me mesmerized. I wonder if the shrines will ever crumble.
I like how the hollowness of white space and punctuation
Effective form. What a time to be alive.
Breaking that last line that way is genius. It hits.
Right out of the gate a winner.
Very effective. I love the ending!
Unsettling poem, darkly atmospheric. I’m not sure I follow it entirely it the overall meaning seems pretty clear. The din of 21st century life is deafening.
Agree with above comments! Great form and unsettling.
I really like the demonstration of an erosion of authenticity and how diminishing our true being to present a curated version of ourselves is so common. Well done!
I like the inner narrative paired with the constant stream of steps/ tasks of staying “connected”
You are off to a great start this year! I love how the white space and the computer screen expand and enlarge your brilliant words.
❤️
Great concept, great form, great final line!
I like how many times the word ‘Edit’ is used. We spend so much time trying to create perfect images of ourselves, sometimes to just to get the chance to be ahead of the algorithm, even for a moment. Very solid poem.
Well this is fantastic!
Thank you all 🖤
