no space to cut the band so
she simply chopped off her finger

Love “previously married ring”! This poem is deliciously deceptive – starting with the innocuous list and ending with a lopped off finger! And then – ice cream to celebrate! Just wow!
Well then. Wasn’t expecting that. The contrast of tone with the internal and physical injury, and then another turn at the end is powerful.
