Retirement
I’ll have a second cup of coffee
with cream, and no place
I have to be. I can sit all day
in my pajamas, with no lesson
plans to write, and no core
content to consult. I’m living
on the other side of the mountain
now, and envied by many.

Congratulations, Dennis!
I know I envy that mountain!!
Thanks. I’m actually semi=retired. I retired from teaching in 2014. I still have my church position. I just thought a retirement poem would fit with the “growing older” theme I’ve been writing about.
Congratulations on writing 13 poems. We are almost halfway there. Hand to the plow is a great asset in retrospect, don’t you think?
Indeed! And congrats to you as well!
I know how much you enjoy your retirement.
Yes! Thanks!
There’s definitely a wealth of freedom you have there. I look forward to my day on the other side of that mountain
