Reunion I
We hold in common
a memory of graduating
forty-five years ago,
laughing at the antics
we lived through.
Never bringing
to the surface
what we all know
about each other,
our struggles
against life’s raging
river of adolescence.
Now that we’re on
the other side, we laugh.

I agree about what’s left tacit and love the phrase “life’s raging/river of adolescence.”
Thank you!
I love the last line of this, gives me hope.
Thank you!
Laughing on the other side brings such joy!
It does for me. Thanks!
