Seasons of Love
Through winter’s monochrome burn
hibernal holding-in.
Through seasons of flowering magnolias
voluptuous orchards of summer.
Through October’s leaves that blow copper snow
friendship is the only love.
The rest is a biological concert
pheromone bells tolling in the dark.

“pheromone bells” and “hibernal holding-in” are two beautiful moments here!
Gorgeous! “hibernal holding-in” especially lovely. The whole thing works and ending is especially nice.
This is beautiful, Donelle. I love the rhythm the repetition gives the poem. And such great words and images
Such imaginative images and sweet music created by repetitive sounds.
