Secrets of the N95
Squint of the eyes
the outside corners pinched
a treasure in darkness
my duty to reflect
Behind these masks
dominating faces
it’s the surest sign
of a smile to be found

Love it. I love short poems that pack a message and this one does!
Those respirator masks deserve a poem. This is the first one I’ve read on the object. I love the squint/pinched rhyme.
Glad you all enjoyed it!
Gaby, I didn’t even notice I made that rhyme!
Enjoyed this! I miss the smiles that are hidden behind the masks. The eyes are now “a treasure in darkness.”
The eyes are our new smile. Great poem.
