Sliding Down the Slippery Slope
Now that the supreme court has officially
made women chattel
what’s next
The equal rights amendment died
A woman no longer controls her own body
Bring out your coat hangers
your secret elixirs
Open up your backrooms your basements
Bring on the underground railroad
guiding women to the places
where they still have a voice and a choice
Beware what comes next Obergefel
Loving
Brown vs. Board of Education
All on the verge of a purge
The bell has already tolled

Yes. And it’s rolled
For me, thee, and we.😥
This sent a shiver through me: the bell has already tolled
Such a great piece for a very scary day
It’s outrageous!! Next up: burning witches at the stake! I think the Loving decision is safe, though, if Clarence Thomas has anything to say about it ( and clearly he has a voice now).
It’s outrageous and horrific. Thank you for this poem.
