Sometimes, A Seed
is a story told
by the wind, a bird, a poet
each releasing their genesis
into the unsuspecting world
letting faith divine
which fallow patch
to call home
For all the seed planters

yes…yes…yes
especially love:
which fallow patch
to call home
Beautiful! I love “a story told/by the wind”
This gave me chills. Beautiful language, imagery, realness attributed to planting a seed…”each releasing their genesis into the unsuspecting world.” A poem of hope.
yes, the open-endedness of fate
I love the words you’ve chosen in this poem – genesis, faith . . .
Yes, keep planting!
The fallow field is filled by seed planters.
It’s rare to read a poem that refers to faith so accurately and we without sentiment!
Beautiful! Is this part of a series of “Sometimes” poems? I hope so. I liked the other one too.
Thanks, Kevin. I’ll see how far they take me.
I also love how you use “divine” as a verb that sits after the noun “faith” and the way the last line consists of three monosyllables
I really like “fallow patch” in this one. Also, I really enjoy a title that flows into the first line.
Excellent Sylvia! I love it.
Oh, I love this.
