Studying Economics
Back in the seventies,
in what some might call
ancient history,
some of us went to college
and learned basic mathematics
like how 28 grams equals an ounce,
and sixteen ounces equals a pound,
and how geography can spell profits
if you live close to the source
and have a dependable way
to travel cross country.

What a sly poem! I matured in the 70’s and I get what you are talking about. Fun poem.
Thank you. I had to think twice before sharing it. I grew up in New Jersey and went to college in Albuquerque. I don’t remember much but I remember a few things…
Very nice. It is so interesting what we remember. My husband and I were recently trying to cobble together the list of simple machines. I remember learning them in 5th grade science, where I got my only D ever!
