surprise visit
perfectly draped flag hangs above
leaves of deep mauve sway in breezes
mountain dew gleams in the heavy sunlight
come, sit down a while she says
her dentured grin matching mine
bodies clinging fading to red cushions
etched in my mind as her recipe
all for me, all for me

I love this
I love this snippet of a poem. I like “mountain dew gleams in the heavy sunlight.” It made me smile! I’m not sure but the figure in this poem feels grandmotherly.
I can see this image so clearly!
