The Cards Don’t Lie
Sometimes
the best thing to do
isn’t
in line with
the best thing
to do;
there is
always a choice, and
it is
the only
thing you can do.
Sometimes.

Marcus Aurelius, little Starling – first principles: Simplicity.
Loved it.
I imagine this small poem as a Mobius Strip of words on air

The line breaks enhance the tension in a moving way.
an expression of nothing (everything)
is predetermined, sometimes at the end = great
So profound!
The deepest thoughts are usually in the simplest words.
I love the topsy-turvy nature of this poem and its message. I also like the way this kind of divides a person’s faculties. Like, a person’s mind will use logic to determine the best course of action, and so will the spirit reading the energies that surround it. Two different ways forward, so how does a person decide? Intriguing poem.
Had to respond to you, specifically, to say: dude. You were on top of this one more than you can know.
Thank you all 💙
As post(pre)lude to decisionmaking:
Sometimes, you choose
what you were always
going to choose.
