The loud times
I distract myself in the loudest times
To block all the thoughts
Running back and forth.
My mouth keeps repeating the same mantra of
“I’ll be fine”
Over and over.
Though it feels like empty promise,
Like the lie that never ends,
I keep reassuring, though it never seems true.
I turn the volume up again.
Distract till my ears go deaf.
Life still goes on,
And never waits,
Though I feel scattered in pieces.
To block all the thoughts
Running back and forth.
My mouth keeps repeating the same mantra of
“I’ll be fine”
Over and over.
Though it feels like empty promise,
Like the lie that never ends,
I keep reassuring, though it never seems true.
I turn the volume up again.
Distract till my ears go deaf.
Life still goes on,
And never waits,
Though I feel scattered in pieces.
