The Murderer
Imagine you wake up and the police are searching for an escaped murderer in your neighborhood. Not just in your town but just a few blocks from your house. The police tell you to lock the doors. The doctor tells you to watch your weight and eat more vegetables. Now imagine the murderer is banging on your door. You have taken all the pills the doctor gave you but now the house is on fire. You have trouble breathing from the smoke even though you quit a long time ago but still you refuse to go to the door because there is a murderer knocking and you know he has come for you.

Very well done, Victoria. I like the gradual dawning of what the poem is really about.
Interesting use of metaphor, Tori. Works well.
