This Little Piggy Went to Market
We watched the hogs feasting fast
Greedy snouts deep in stocks of the middle class
Eating up all our dreams before we knew it
And we didn’t act quickly when it started
Didn’t think we’d have to be so guarded
Pay $80 for a $5 locket
How the company makes more profit
Shareholder grows bolder
No recourse for the lies he sold her
Martha went to prison
But they go to the bank
Anxiety slashed our guts with a dirty shank
The play volleyball with our social safety net
Voters turn away slowly with selfish regret
We were meant to protect the vulnerable
We were warned to speak for the trees
Instead we laid down with dogs
Then acted shocked to catch their fleas
