To The Women Who Declared Victory in the Roe v Wade Overturn
Is saving a glob
of unformed tissue
worth re-granting
control of your body
to vengeful insecurity?
Why aren’t your reeling
from this backward
trajectory? Can’t
you feel the deep press
of their thumbs?
Will you be first
in line to adopt
the unwanted?
That is,
if you’re allowed.

Good points you make here.
“the deep press of their thumbs” — oh, yes. Also love the use of questions.
Well reasoned, sad and poetic.
Exactly
Yes!
“Will you be the first in line to adopt the unwanted?”
No. They like to decry “save the unborn,” but when those children and their families, usually mothers, need help to protect and nurture them, they vote against social assistance and abandon those children they claimed to defend. Disgusting opportunists who only pretend in order to further their grandiose visions of unlimited power. Read The Handmade’s Tale.
Thank you Kathleen for this poem
