True Light
True Light
The thunder storm cleared the air
and Robert made a fresh pot of coffee,
sterling, strong and pleasurable—
the storm, Robert’s smile, the coffee.
Such cameos light my eyes.

What a wonderful description of a moment in time! Sweet but not saccharine.
I will say–and take this for what it’s worth–that you might be able to find a word that would fit better than “pleasurable” in terms of sound and rhythm. Maybe another “st” word? Regardless, the three adjectives and noun groupings mirror each other well.
Wonderful moment, haiku-like. You might even want to leave out the middle (3rd) line. The last line evokes the effect the middle line summarizes.
Gifts acknowledged (the air- clearing storm), and the ones freely given…..(the smile, and making of coffee)….. written into such a lovely poem, Melva Sue!
There is such beauty in the ordinary and your words express it perfectly.
Love all the “s” sounds – they enhance the soothing tone of this poem.
