Unpublished Wager
If I were to bet on art
I’d faithfully blanche the carte
And observe how the masterpieces
In my own self centered thesis
Become bones hiding in the cupboard
Waiting for the bread to be buttered
They’ll escape a velvet heart journal
Then breathe into a life that’s diurnal
So far it remains to be seen if I’ll win
But I’ll always gamble on writing again
