untitled
keep every purpose-
so each time
you take time
to remind
or watch
when you’re supposed to
forget to get

compact but in the tradition of Proverbs and Ben Franklin’s aphorisms, with a sense of time passing
yes. all this erasure from the same source is starting to feel a little ‘preachy’
I like what Gabi said! This is a little more wordy than you’ve typically been. Ha!
i’m starting to feel ready for some new source material.. finding my eye going to the same sets of words on each new page.
That’s really interesting — I hadn’t thought of how one’s eye might do that but totally get it. What’s the book you’re pulling from?
it’s a booklet from the hospital all about heart healthy living..
mostly discussing exercise, diet, medication etc… it’s got a lot of pretty great illustrations too.
like the way the last line
which seems to call out
for “remember” gets
“forget to get”
thanks.. ‘forget to get’ was almost the first line.. but i changed it at the last minute.
This book is a gold mine.
This one splits
and then spits.
” forget to get ” is pure
I like the abstract and experimental aspect of your poetry, Dustin! It feels like a new poem each time I re read it getting something different from it each time.
thanks… the lack of punctuation in this one too- helps keep things shifting around.. 🙂
