untitled
The eighth grade dance
-1967-
The girls removed one shoe,
Threw it in the middle
Of the dance floor
For a boy to choose
Before the next slow number.
I, a nervous Cinderella, made sure
My shoe looked like the ones
Worn by the girls
With the confident laughter.

I love this.
I remember this ice breaker in college, and thinking my shoes were inappropriately large.
I really connect with this. Thank you.
