Wade or Falling
you can’t appreciate your balance
until someting beyond your control
causes you to lose your senses
makes you think those creek rock
will give you a moment of steadiness
to compose
to ready
but what you fail to see is that you were falling
long before you followed her into the water

Reading, and falling through, your poetry, as always.
Can’t wait for more, sir.
Likewise brother.
Damn. Coming out strong.
“creek rock
will give you a moment of steadiness” This is what we are here for. Great work.
love how it says “to ready” – you led me DY through that
I’m so damn glad you are here and writing.
Balance is underrated. Beautiful poem!
Great surprise ending!
I have stepped on those creek rocks, expecting steadiness, but falling into the water as they tilt…
go on and drown, brother. drown.
Sick boss. We real sick.
