When the river flows
I barely steer,
none of the static of stupid in my ear.
Nothing along the bank attracts my eye.
I just float in the flow and don’t ask why.

“None of the static of stupid” I will hold on to!
Love the internal rhyme in these sensual couplets, especially in the final line. I also appreciate the “when” in the title.
oh yes
this puts me on the river
nothing i love better
than floating the johnson,
hinkston, licking, north fork,
stoner, bracken, white oak,
or that king of streams,
the elkhorn
paddles?!? we don’t need no stinkin’ paddles!
Paddles only for coming back… or is the flow eternal?
Love the rhyming! Very Zen.
