Why? Because we all have a chance to write poetry every day and share it with each other as a community. How cool is that?!

I first participated in 2023, when I wrote 30 poems. Then in 2024 I wrote 30 poems. I’m an alcoholic, so now my choices are either to keep my perfect streak going, or die.

I’ve abandoned my craft for some time. I’ve allowed life to get in the way of a bond that was cemented tight. Poetry has always been a cornerstone of my life. Poetry never let me down— but I’ve come to terms that I the one that’s been neglectful. I want to reintroduce my love for this special medium. Poetry has always been there through the toughest of times, the best and brightest of occasions, the fantasies, and the what ifs. Being part of this anthology is a public a declaration of my recommitment to the art.
