I was born in Winchester, spent about 30 years in Indiana, and just recently moved to back to Kentucky as an adult. I have been a long-time writer, with an adoration for poetry specifically, but I am a Lexington newbie! I need writer friends. I need community and connection. I also need neuroinclusive spaces to engage with the writing community, so here I am. I am currently writing my next book, and lately writing has felt lonely. I’m signing up, because I am attempting to be socially brave and put myself into the Lexington writer sphere (though it’s intimidating to be honest – there are so many amazing writers around here). This is a good challenge for some writing accountability, and it is an opportunity to connect with others interested in forming artistic friendships. Live long and line break, y’all!

I keep hearing Katerina’s gentle reminder “Common people, these books aren’t going to write themselves!”I want to be in the community where it happens, read from some of my favorite poets and push myself to write more.

LexPoMo is, and always will be, the highlight of her year. Maggie loves the opportunity to hear from talented writers and to engage with them in small, but mighty, ways.

I truly enjoyed last year reading all of the talented artists works and trying my own hand after years of rust breaking free. Very excited to see how this year comes along!
