I was drunk when I signed up last year and spent the month writing dumb but fun haikus. This year, I might want to experiment and sprinkle in some new stuff.

My friend has been participating in Lexington Poetry Month for years, and I’ve always found it inspiring. I’ve been curious about it for a while, but this is the first year I finally decided to take the leap. As a musician and lyricist, I’ve always been drawn to the power of words, and this felt like the perfect challenge to stretch that part of my creativity in a new way.
Every year, the community, at LexPoMo– and the LexPoMo experience– restore my faith in the limitlessness of poetry. Remember: YOU are the art form!
This year, it’s all about trying to take my poetry in new and challenging directions while still being a part of this eclectic community.
