The Sun Still Rises When It Rains
The clouds cover the sun rising
From behind the mountains
But the blue and pink tones
Still peak through.
The fog decorates the top of the trees
Like icing on a cake,
The view may not be clear
But the sun is still rising,
As it will.
The rain drops are heavy on the leaves
But they leave a smell so reminiscent
In the morning air.
The rain may make you shiver
But it only take a minute
To brew a pot of coffee.
Take a seat on the porch,
Or walk up the mountain
And watch the sunrise,
No matter the conditions.
Because the sunrise starts our day
And we only have so much time
Until the sun sets, and we meet the moon.
And the sunrises in our lives
Are limited.

I love the sunrise and this is the perfect picture of the promise of every morning. In the tropics it seems it is the sunset that is celebrated–guess those folks have been deprived of light coming in over the mountain.
