The Ossified Man Makes Myth
Maybe a ghost haunts the dean’s office
I’m not scared of choking to death anymore.
I’m not scared of drowning in my car,
But after all this time, I’m afraid about caring
about the way the building’s windows judged

What an incredible line (in a poem filled with several good lines)….
“nor being alone with myself in the same way
we were alone together.”
Wish I was brave enough to make sense of my world.
Exchanging one set of fears for another seems to be the fate of adding years and experience. My baby grandbaby is afraid of my big harmless cat, and I am afraid of semis on the road. To come to terms with all this in your poem is quite a remarkable piece of work.
The title is great. The ossified (ceased developing)man makes myth ( not really the truth) that he is no longer afraid. The reader wants to say:”yeah, sure”
Title –great. And loved these lines:
nor being alone with myself in the same way
we were alone together.
