Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2025

J.E. Barr is a debut author born and raised in Connecticut, but has lived in Lexington since graduating from UK with a bachelor’s in Equine Science. She lives with dog Milo and demon cat, Penelope.

Reason for signing up:

I love being a part of the writing community in Lexington and I’m always looking for opportunities to publish my work. Poetry holds a special place in my heart, though I’m new to sharing it on a scale like this
