Sponsored by Workhorse, Lexington Poetry Month is an easy to use platform for poets to publish and share their work in an attractive way. The community is supportive and diverse, commenting and encouraging one another throughout June. Money we raise goes to maintaining the cost of the website and publishing the yearly anthology. Our goals are to provide every poet (~150) a copy of the anthology, lower printing costs, and expand opportunities offered during Lexington Poetry Month, such as featured readings and poetry workshops.

Bio for 2025

Dreama Buck is a native Appalachian who was cradled by mountains and is still delighted by lightning bugs. Her publishing credits include Biostories, Et Cetera, the Boys Will Be Boys and All About the Girls anthologies, and the Feminine Rising: Voices of Power and Invisibility collection. She’s received awards and publications in multiple genres, including poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

Reason for signing up:

One of my children sent me Misty Skaggs’ #LexPoMo poem “Scorched Sugar,” and that and other poems I found there inspired me to join in!
