Cocoon
I am orders of magnitude
less miserable than I was, my
second self, an exquisite misery found
fixing and collating you, library
and litany of butterflies.
You and a complete, utter
unawareness of you. I wouldn’t trade
for happiness.

I relate to this one. Great like always Manny 🫶🏻
thank you love
Dang Manny!! I love “”my/second self, an exquisite misery found/fixing and collating you…”
How deliciously eerie. The flow is wonderful — each line seems to unfurl naturally into the next while remaining slightly uncanny. I especially love “library and litany of butterflies”
Damn, Manny—this is a left hook. A lot of power, lands hard and almost out of nowhere. Well done.
I think short, bigger than they appear are the order of business for a while. Thanks for encouraging this direction. Yes, it is a left hook. Literally expressed.
I love library and litany of butterflies
Yep, a good punch,
Love: “library
and litany of butterflies.”
And so you sit with your emotions- with your “library and litany of butterflies”. Wonderful.
I love what everyone said! Uncanny, mysterious and strangely beautiful.
I often hear a soundtrack playing in the background when I read your poems – sometimes jazz, sometimes blues, sometimes heavy metal, sometimes the theme to Romeo and Juliet. Do you listen to music when you write?
silence, Sylvia – or the Endel ADHD sound generator for iPhone and Android. It’s an app that somehow clears distraction by creating monotony. ultimately silence is best. thank you for the considerate read.
