Your Anklet
my name cast in hebrew
lays on your skin chaining
me to you as you sit
in the meadow capris
teasing me with the bare
essence of your beauty
You need nearly nothing
to keep my eyes enthralled

I really love the form of this one, how the short phrases force a pause to let you savor the words and think.
Love it, you big softie. “capris teasing me” sounds perfection.

You’re too kind to me, Coleman. To the contrary, I, and so many other poets at LexPoMo are the privileged ones, to experience YOUR work, especially this year.
WOW, Lee! This poem is masterful in every way. I have read it several times (and in several ways!) and it delights me each time. Brilliant, brilliant work!
This works so well and feels like its own world in language: an encompassing scene & dreamlike state.
